Julian Jordan: ‘Me encataría pinchar en el mainstage de Tomorrowland’

Hoy tenemos el gusto de poder entrevistar a uno de los artistas que más éxito y que más está creciendo dentro del mundo de la musica electronica, él es Julian Jordan. Ha colaborado con artistas de la talla de Martin Garrix.

Has mencionado muchas veces que te gusta salir de casa para inspirarte para nueva música, ¿cuales son tus sitios ideales para pensar en nuevos temas? 

¡Es verdad! Las ideas para nuevas canciones surgen en los momentos más extraños, jaja. A veces, cuando estoy en un restaurante o cuando conduzco en mi coche. Las ideas normalmente surgen cuando aclaras tu mente y dejas de presionarte.

You have mentioned many times that you like to leave the house to get inspired for new music, what are your ideal places to think about new songs?

That’s true! Ideas for new songs pop up at the weirdest moments haha. Sometimes when I’m in a restaurant or when I’m driving in my car. The ideas normally pop up when you clear your head and stop putting pressure on yourself.   

Angels x Demons ha sido uno de tus temas más escuchado y de los que más impacto ha tenido en tu carrera, ¿como fue el feedback de este tema?¿ Esperabas este éxito?

¡Sí, es una locura! Realmente no me lo esperaba cuando comencé a hacer la pista. Cuando lo terminé, me pidieron que hiciera de esa pista el himno de FarCry. Eso fue realmente genial. Filmamos el video en Londres y mientras lo filmamos, la pista se hizo muy popular.

Angels x Demons has been one of your songs most listened to and the one that has had the most impact on your career, how was the feedback on this song? Did you expect this success?

Yes it’s crazy! I didn’t really expect it when I started making the track. When I finished it, they asked me to make that track the anthem for FarCry. That was really dope.We shot the video in London and while we shot it, the track became very popular.

Siempre quise producir un álbum como una producción. No era realmente un álbum, era más como una recopilación de la música que estaba tocando en ese momento. Todavía tengo el deseo de producir un álbum completo. ¡Quizás pronto lo haga!

It’s Julian Jordan was your debut album, what did it mean for you to make this leap in your career as a producer / dj?

I always wanted to produce an album like a production. It wasn’t really an album, it was more like a compilation of music I was playing at that time. I still have a wish to produce a full album. Maybe I will soon do that!

¿Tienes planes de futuro para un nuevo álbum?

Sí, sería genial. Estoy trabajando muy duro en mi propio sonido característico y creo que no hay mejor manera de hacer que la gente conozca tu sonido que con un álbum, ¡pero por ahora seguiré lanzando música nueva constantemente!

Do you have future plans for a new album?

Yes it would be really cool. I’m working very hard on my own signature sound and I think there is no better way to make people aware of your sound than with an album. But for now I will keep consistently releasing new music!

What can you tell us about your last “boss” tremble, what message do you want to give with this song?

Especially in times like these when people can’t really party and enjoy shows, it is important to keep the party spirit alive. That’s why I keep producing my sound and don’t switch to more commercial/easy listening. I want to show my fans that we are in this together and we are all bosses.

Has colaborado con artistas de talla mundial como Timmy Trumpet, Sander van Doorn, Brooks... y has sacado varios temas con Martin Garrix encontrando sonidos muy inéditos y innovadores, ¿Como fue la producción y la colaboración de estos temas con estos artistas?

Siempre muy bien, estoy feliz de llamar a todos estos djs mis amigos. Tengo una gran conexión con la mayoría de las personas con las que colaboro y creo que esa es una de las cosas más importantes. Trabajar con tantos amigos talentosos es increíble y se siente muy inspirador y motivador.

You have collaborated with world-class artists such as Timmy Trumpet, Sander van doorn, Brooks … and have you released several songs with Martin Garrix, found very new and innovative sounds, how was the production and collaboration of these songs with these artists?

Always very good, I’m happy to call all of these djs my friends. I have a great connection with most of the people i collaborate with, and I think that’s one of the most important things. To work with so many talented friends is amazing and feels very inspiring and motivating

Actuaciones en Ultra music festival, World Club Dome, S20, Amsterdam RAI festivales de gran importancia, ¿Cuál ha sido para ti tu mejor o mejores actuaciones en grandes festivales?

Para mí, el escenario principal de Ultra era una cosa de la lista de deseos. Pero la mejor actuación es siempre una pregunta difícil de responder. Realmente disfruto cada canción que puedo tocar. Podría ser un festival o un espectáculo en un club. Mientras sienta la energía de la multitud, eso es todo lo que importa.

Performances at Ultra music festival, World Club Dome, S20, Amsterdam RAI festivals of great importance, what has been for you your best or best performances at major festivals?

To me the Ultra mainstage was a bucketlist thing. But the best performance is always a hard question to answer.I really enjoy every single show I get to play. It could be a festival or a club show. As long as i feel the energy of the crowd, that’s all that matters.

¿En que país/ciudad que aun no has actuado te gustaría actuar? ¿Y en que festivales?

He dado la vuelta al mundo tantas veces que es difícil pensar en un país en el que todavía no he estado, jaja. Todavía quiero tocar en el escenario principal de Tomorrowland,  he pinchado en Tomorrowland algunas veces, pero el escenario principal sería increíble.

And in which country / city that you have not performed yet would you like to perform? And in which festivals?

I’ve ben around the world so many times it’s hard to think about a country where I haven’t been yet haha.

I Still want to play on the Tomorrowland mainstage, I played Tomorrowland a few times but the mainstage would be amazing.

La pandemia del covid ha afectado a todos los sectores, algunos más que otros, en este caso los dj sin poder actuar, ¿En que has invertido tu tiempo de confinamiento?

Sigo produciendo música todos los días e intento invertir tiempo en mis amigos y familiares también porque no los veo mucho cuando estoy de gira. Intento aprovechar al máximo esta situación. Y también trato de ser creativo con nuevos conceptos. Creé un paquete de muestras realmente enfermizo que tiene todo de mí, una clase magistral detallada y muchos sonidos / ajustes preestablecidos que uso en todas mis producciones.

The covid pandemic has affected all sectors, some more than others, in this case djs unable to act, in what have you invested your time in confinement?

I keep producing music everyday and try to invest time in my friends & family as well because I don’t see them that much when I’m on tour. I try to make the most out of this situation. And I also try to be creative with new concepts. I created a really sick samplepack that has everything from me in it, a detailed masterclass and a lot of sounds/presets I use in all my productions.

¿Planes de futuro? ¿Como te ves en un tiempo?

Ya logré más de lo que podía imaginar, pero sigo disfrutando cada pedacito de mi vida, quiero volver a verme en el escenario muy pronto. ¡Una multitud feliz y saludable frente a mí es todo lo que deseo en este momento! Creo que el establecimiento de mi propio sonido característico está casi allí, pero en el futuro quiero asegurar el sonido electro al 1000%.

Future plans? How do you see yourself in a while?

I already achieved more than I could imagine but I’m still enjoying every little bit of my life. I want to see myself on stage again very soon. A happy & healthy crowd in front of me is everything I wish for right now! I think the establishment of my own signature sound is almost there but in the future I want to secure the electro sound 1000%
